Party General Secretary To Lam and his spouse, together with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, are paying an official visit to Finland from October 20 to 22 at the invitation of President of Finland Alexander Stubb. This is the first visit by a General Secretary of Vietnam to Finland since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1973. The visit demonstrates Vietnam’s appreciation of its traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Finland, while opening up new strategic cooperation prospects between the two nations.
