Vietnam and China are neighboring countries with many similarities in culture, political systems, and development paths. Recently, with the joint efforts of both sides, the relationship between the two parties and the two countries has maintained a very positive momentum of development, achieving significant accomplishments in all areas.
General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President To Lam and his spouse are paying a state visit to China. The visit from August 18 – 20 is made at the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President of China Xi Jinping.
Economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Vietnam and China has continuously deepened and become a highlight in their bilateral relations in recent times. China is Vietnam’s largest trading partner and its second-largest export market. Meanwhile, Vietnam is China's largest trading partner within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and its fifth-largest trading partner globally, following the US, Japan, Republic of Korea and Russia.
Vietnam ranked second in the world, just after China, in footwear exports, with 1.5 billion pairs shipped overseas and a presence in 150 markets in 2022. Footwear exports last year brought in over 20.2 billion USD, marking the 26th consecutive year, since 1998, that footwear exports have been in the billion-dollar category.
General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President of China Xi Jinping and his spouse are paying a State visit to Vietnam. The visit on December 12-13 is made at the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong and his spouse, and President Vo Van Thuong and his spouse.
