The total number of international tourists in 2023 is estimated at 12.5 million, meeting the targeted 12.5-13 million foreign arrivals for the year. Total revenue from tourism is expected to be 672 trillion VND (28 billion USD), exceeding the plan by 3.38%.
Foreign arrivals to Vietnam were estimated at 7.83 million in the first eight months of 2023, a 5.4-fold surge compared to the same period last year but still just 69.2% of the figure in the first eight months of 2019, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The number of foreign arrivals to Vietnam in the first quarter of this year jumped 89.1 percent year-on-year to 91,000 as the country has fully reopened and many international flights have been restored, according to General Statistics Office (GSO).
