Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man will lead a high-ranking NA delegation to pay an official visit to Laos and attend the 45th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-45) from October 17-19. This is the legislative leader's first official visit to Laos in his new position, taking place just ahead of the AIPA-45 General Assembly, with Laos as the host nation.
Decision No. 370/QD-TTg dated May 4, 2024, issued by the Prime Minister sets the goal of developing the Southeast Region into a civilized, modern, and dynamically developing area; becoming a leading centre in the country and in the Southeast Asian region in terms of economy, finance, education, training, science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
According to the planning for the Southeast region for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, the region sets the goal to become a civilized, modern area with a developed industrial sector by 2030. It aims to be the largest growth engine in the country, and at the same time, a highly competitive international financial center in the region.
British magazine Times Higher Education (THE) has announced its World University Rankings 2024 (THE WUR 2024), in which six Vietnamese universities are listed. Duy Tan University and Ton Duc Thang University are both in the 601 - 800 group in the global rankings and again lead Vietnamese universities, but have both fallen in their position compared to 2023.
Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala is paying an official visit to Vietnam from April 20 to 22 at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh. The trip is the first to Asia by Prime Minister Fiala since he took office at the end of 2021 and the first by a head of the Czech Government to Vietnam in 15 years.
