Over the past 45 years (September 1977 - September 2024), the cooperation between Vietnam and the United Nations has yielded positive results, fulfilling both Vietnam’s needs and interests at various stages, while enhancing Vietnam’s role, voice, and contributions to the United Nations. These achievements have paved the way for future joint efforts between Vietnam and the United Nations to address remaining challenges, further expand and improve the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation.
The 2022 Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) Report on Vietnam was released recently by the Centre for Community Support and Development Studies, the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Centre for Research and Training, Real-Time Analytics, and the United Nations Development Programme.
In his capacity as President of the United Nations Security Council in April 2021, Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on April 19 chaired a High-level Open Debate on "Cooperation between the UN and regional organisations in enhancing confidence-building and dialogue in conflict prevention and resolution", which was held in both online and in-person formats.
