On December 15, 2024, the United Kingdom became the first European nation to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), officially becoming the trade bloc's 12th member.

State President Luong Cuong’s official visit to Peru and attendance at the 2024 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Lima from November 12 – 16 demonstrate the robust relations between Vietnam and Peru in various fields from politics – diplomacy to economy – trade, as well as offer an opportunity to deepen the friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
