In its April 2024 Asian Development Outlook (ADO) report, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has maintained its earlier forecast for Vietnam’s economic growth this year, despite ongoing uncertainties from the external environment. Vietnam’s economy is expected to achieve a growth rate of 6.0% in 2024 and 6.2% in 2025.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has reported that Vietnam’s rice exports hit 708 million USD in the first two months of 2024, an increase of nearly 50% compared to the same period last year. The figures promise a positive outlook for rice exports during 2024 as a whole, especially those to major markets.
The size of Vietnam’s e-commerce market is estimated to have reached 20.5 billion USD in 2023, for growth of 25 percent compared to 2022. This demonstrates that e-commerce is increasingly asserting its position as a crucial component of Vietnam’s digital economy, driving economic development and leading digital transformation in businesses.
