In the fourth quarter of 2024, Quang Ninh province aims to attract 3.36 million visitors. To achieve this goal, the province plans to organise numerous exciting cultural, tourism, and sports events from now until the end of the year.

Facilitative visa policies and attractive tourism stimulus programmes have proven effective in attracting a high number of international visitors to Vietnam compared to the same period last year.

The total number of international tourists in 2023 is estimated at 12.5 million, meeting the targeted 12.5-13 million foreign arrivals for the year. Total revenue from tourism is expected to be 672 trillion VND (28 billion USD), exceeding the plan by 3.38%.

With efforts being made in recent times by the entire tourism industry to overcome the difficulties, the total number of international visitors to Vietnam has already far exceeded the 2023 annual plan. Of note, October was the fourth consecutive month Vietnam welcomed over 1 million foreign tourist arrivals.

Vietnam welcomed more than 3.36 million foreign visitors in 2022, which is 23.3 times higher than in 2021 but down by 79.9% compared to the figure in 2019, prior to COVID-19.

The number of international arrivals to Vietnam in the first six months of 2020 decreased sharply by 55.8%, according to the General Statistics Office.
