By the end of 2024, the disbursed FDI capital in Vietnam is estimated to reach approximately 25.35 billion USD, up 9.4% compared to 2023, marking the highest disbursement level ever recorded. Total newly registered capital, additional capital adjustments, and foreign investors' capital contributions and share purchases are estimated at nearly 38.23 billion USD.

As of November 30, 2024, the total newly registered capital, adjusted capital, and capital contributions or share purchases by foreign investors in Vietnam reached nearly 31.4 billion USD, up 1% increase compared to the same period last year.

Vietnam reported about 27.26 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first 10 months of the year, an on-year increase of 1.9%. The capital disbursed for foreign investment projects is estimated at approximately 19.58 billion USD, up 8.8% compared to the same period in 2023.

As of July 20, 2024, the combined total of newly registered capital, adjusted capital, and capital contributions and share purchases by foreign investors surpassed 18 billion USD, up 10.9 percent compared to the same period last year.

Vietnam attracted nearly 15.2 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first six months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 13.1%, according to the General Statistics Office.

Vietnam’s total registered foreign investment reached nearly 9.27 billion USD in the first four months of the year, up 4.5% compared to the same period last year. The total import-export turnover of goods reached 238.88 billion USD, up 15.2%.

As of March 20, total newly-registered, additional, and contributed capital and share purchases of foreign investors stood at more than 6.17 billion USD in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 13.4%.

Total newly-registered foreign investment capital, adjusted capital, and capital contributed to buy shares and buy contributed capital of foreign investors in January totalled 2.36 billion USD as of January 20, an increase of 40.2 percent compared to 2023.

Total newly-registered foreign investment capital, adjusted and contributed capital to buy shares and buy contributed capital of foreign investors totalled 36.6 billion USD as of December 20, 2023, an increase of 32.1% compared to 2022.

Registered foreign direct investment (FDI) capital in Vietnam this year stood at almost 29 billion USD as of November 20, up nearly 15% compared to the same period last year.

Total newly-registered investment capital, additional capital, contributed capital for share purchases, and contributed capital from foreign investors totalled 25.762 billion USD in the first 10 months of 2023, an increase of 14.7% over the same period of 2022 and the highest increase since the beginning of this year.

Hanoi has maintained its position as the leading destination in Vietnam for foreign direct investment (FDI), bringing in nearly 2.53 billion USD in registered capital during the first nine months of 2023 and representing nearly 12.5% of the country’s total.

Vietnam attracted foreign direct investment of 106.8 billion USD into its renewable energy sector during the 2015-2022 period, ranking it 2nd among developing economies around the world.

As of July 20, total newly-registered capital, additional capital, and capital contributions and share purchase by foreign investors stood at nearly 16.24 billion USD, up 4.5% compared to the same period of 2022 and 8.8% compared to the first half of the year.

Total foreign direct investment (FDI) in Vietnam, including new and additional investment and contributions for share purchases by foreign investors, reached nearly 10.86 billion USD from January to May 20, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

As of April 20, foreign investors had invested nearly 8.88 billion USD in Vietnam, or 82.1% of the figure in the same period of 2022.
